Founded in 1954, the Jeffersontown Police Department has grown into one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the area.

The Jeffersontown Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the city of Jeffersontown. Situated in the eastern portion of Jefferson county and the Louisville Metro area, we share boundaries with the LMPD 6th, 7th, and 8th Divisions as well as the cities of Hurstbourne Acres, Lyndon and Middletown. Along with these neighboring departments we strive to create a safe and peaceful community for our nearly 29,000 residents and businesses to thrive.
